It’s nice to see how countries compete to become more energy efficient and the UK government has recently announced that UK has Become the World’s Biggest Producer of Offshore Wind Power. The total amount of energy that is produced from their off shore locations is 590 megawatts which is enough to power about 300,000 homes. On top of this announcement they have informed us that they will not stop there.

They want to maintain their number 1 ranking and produce a lot more cleaner energy and are doing so by having five more wind farms built and I’m happy to say that they are currently under construction. These five wind farms will produce an extra 938 megawatts. Europe is still considered one of the poorest European performers if you look at their overall output but this is a huge step forward for them and it’s nice to see that they aren’t going to stop anytime soon. Lets also hope to see them contribute in the solar aspect of creating more environmental friendly energy.
