Recent studies by the European Renewable Energy Council (EREC) have shown that by the year 2090 the world can halt fossil fuel use which will save 18 trillion dollars and will create a 360 billion dollar industry that provides half of the worlds electricity. This may seem as too long for most of use but the date predicted is when all fossil fuels will stop being used and we can rely solely on energy sources such as solar panels, wind turbines, wave farms and so on. A closer goal to look forward to though is that we can eliminate the use of coal by 2050.
