With the New Year comes new hope for Taotao who is just a 10 month old Panda bear. When he was first born his mother had left him and their seemed to be no hope left for him. Well Taotao’s keepers thought of an idea so that Taotao would let them get close to him. They smeared polar bear urine and poop all over themselves in order to fool the young polar bear and it worked. He let them get close to him and even started nursing from the hands of the keepers.

He first weighed only several hundred grams and with the help of the keepers he grew to 35kg. He now has his own private swimming pool and is growing stronger and healthier daily. It is definitely great news to hear as his species is diminishing quite quickly.
