One thing that will always be seen in a good way to go green in is the fashion industry. There are already many companies that make ECO friendly clothing but two people, Professor Tony Ryan, from Sheffield University and Professor Helen Storey, from London College teamed up to create a very unique style of clothing. They developed a type of plastic that actually melts when it makes contact with water leaving behind all the colors that where on the garment.
While I think the whole idea of renewable clothing is a good one the idea of one that dissolves in water I’m not to sure about. I wouldn’t want to get stuck in a rainstorm with a plastic suit on but then again you wouldn’t wear something like this if you know it is going to rain. I have to hand it to the designers though because they made some pretty nice pieces.
The great thing about this new plastic though is that it can be used for many things like containers and other things which we only use once. Like the Pringles cans, once your done eating simply wash the can and it dissolves. I think this technology would be greatly suited for designs such as that.
