The melting man concept has been used quite frequently to try to raise awareness on the Global Warming subject. The first time around we actually saw a person standing in a puddle, which signified his melting body, passing out flyers with information on what could be done to help you reduce your carbon footprint. Now a different approach from Nele Azevdo which involves men shaped figures that where made out of ice sitting in the midday sun slowly melting away to try to raise the awareness of people that this is what is happening to our polar caps.
