There are many winery’s using solar energy but here we bring to you the worlds largest solar powered winery. This is set to be built for Constellation Wines Gonzales winery in Monterry County, CA and will expand over 170,000 square feet producing 1,700,000 kilowatts hours a year. This amount of energy will be able to power over half of the winery’s energy consumption. That’s not all thought, the energy that the Winery does not use will go to powering the energy needs of the residential area surrounding the winery. That’s over 1,600 homes receiving about 25% of solar energy from the winery. It’s always great to see big businesses helping out the people around them.

Here is a comparison as to what you would have to do to help the environment like this winery is doing. You would have to plant 2,500 acres of tree. It prevents an averages exhaust production from cars equivalent to driving 25 million miles. Also it would be like taking over 2,000 cars off the road. This solar business will offset around 1.6 million pounds of Carbon Dioxide, 1,600 pounds of Sulfur Dioxide, and 2,900 pounds or Nitrogen Oxides annually. This is a great example of how we should use solar products to help better the environment.
