The competition in the area of renewable energy has been growing amongst countries and Germany has just recently unveiled the worlds toughest wind turbines. They have spent 10 years developing them and have made them water proof, light and have a very simple design (the simpler the design the easier it is to maintain).

At full power each 5MW turbine can supply enough energy to power 5,000 homes. Not only do they provide an immense amount of energy but they are also made with carbon fiber to make them as light as the can be and they have everything the need to be repaired stored on the turbine.

These turbines are designed by Areva and they plan on installing 6 of these as Germany’s first off shore wind farm. Plans and construction of these turbines are set to be finished by the end of this summer.
