Lately we have been seeing everything from Solar Powered Lawnmowers to the biggest wave farm and now we present you a first in its class the Island Pilot Hybrid Luxury Yacht. A solar powered yacht is probably one of the last things that I thought I would see solar powered but here it is! The 40 ft Island Pilot DSe Hybrid 12m combines solar, electric, and diesel power making it more energy efficient and having less of an impact on the environment. This yacht can run up to 6 knots running only on solar power and 13 knots with the addition of diesel and is going for a hefty price of $600,000.

With the government finally taking more measures to reduce carbon emissions they have decided to include aviation to reduce green house gas emissions. Environment minister Joan Ruddock stated that it was vital to include aviation and shipping in order to decrease the threat of the climate changes. That’s a pretty smart idea seeing as the amount of gas planes use is tremendous. I wonder how long it will take to make a zero greenhouse emissions plane. If you want more info on the steps being taken you can head over to BBC for the full article.

Here’s a very cool movement by activists Daniel Bowman Simon and Casey Gustowarow. What they have done is taken their flipped up double bus and have planted a garden on the top half of the bus and have begun touring the country. They are doing this in hopes to spread the word on what needs to be done in regards to the food system as well as get enough people to sign their petition. The petition is to demand that part of the White Houses grounds will be turned into an organic farmland.

Rollin on Chrome has teamed up with the German natural gas conversion company, Green Autogas. What they ended up creating is amazement beyond words. A natural gas 300-horsepower, Mustang GT. The car isn’t exactly all green but they did the best they could and made it run on natural gas while equipping it with a body kit, carbon-fiber hood, and 22 inch wheels. This just shows people that you can go green while driving a beautiful car at the same time.

Electric Motorsport has just released there GPR-S electric motorcycle, which happens to look terrific and is at an affordable price. This 280 pound bike goes up to around 19-horse power and runs up to 60 - 70 MPH. I find that amazing, since it’s just an electric motorcycle. What really surprises me even more is the fact that the bike is going up to only $8000. A full charge will take up to about 4 hours but if you decide a high-speed option which also include BMS the charge time will be cut down to 1.5 hours. Devastating that only 25 of these have been sold but hopefully in the through out the months more will be sold. Source: ABG.

Finally pictures of the Tesla’s 4-door All-Electric Model S Sports Sedan has been shown. The five passenger sports sedan that has been developed entirely by Tesla will allow you to get a jaw dropping 240 miles per charge! The Model S will also do a 0-60 MPH in less than 6 seconds, which makes gas guzzlers look pathetic. Tesla doesn’t just stop there, with a base price estimated of about $60,000 (versus the Roadster’s $109,000 price tag). The Tesla Model S is set for a 2010 release, more information and pictures should be coming soon. Source: Road and Track

Rolls-Royce’s CEO has just recently announced that they would like to make an Electric Phantom. He said that “Many of our customers do small mileages exclusively in the city” and seeing as how the car would not have to be powered for long or even have the need for a great amount of horsepower these Electric Phantoms would be perfect.

Yesterday we showed you the fastest electric car that is currently in production and now here KTM is Producing a Off-Road Electric Motorcycle. In KTM’s announcement they stated that they produced a quiet prototype that has 35 horsepower and can run for about 40 minutes on a lithium battery without having to recharge. This is still in the early stages but the stats that are currently available are that the bike can produce 29.5 foot-pounds of torque and the battery and motor weight is only 37.5 pounds combined.

With the environment being a top concerns for many major corporations here we see that Shelby Super cars is building the world’s fastest electric car. This car is called The Ultimate Aero EV and has an incredible 500 horsepower. Not only is this car 100% green but it has also been named the fastest “green” car to be created. This cars design will be based on the Ultimate Aero EV but instead of the gas engine it will have a 373kw electric motor running the car. Another statement that Shelby Super cars made was that “The drive train under development will feature a revolutionary power source allowing for extended time between charging intervals with the possibility of several years between charging.”
