BambooSK8 has just recently introduced to us their new Bamboo skateboards which are actually more durable, sustainable and stronger then those made with Maple. Now you may say hey its just a skateboard but did you know that Canadian Maple used to make skateboards takes anywhere from 40-60 years to mature before it can be cut down and used while Bamboo is a renewable grass that you can use after only 5 years. There are some skateboarding companies that do use a couple layers of Bamboo but BambooSK8 is the only company which uses 100% bamboo which is grown in managed forests.

These skateboards are not only ECO friendly but they can take more beating then a regular deck made from Maple. The boards used weigh between 2.5 and 2.85 pounds and take 1639 pounds of pressure to bend compared to the 1450 pounds that it takes for Maple to bend. So overall you save the environment a bit, get a stronger deck, and it’s said that they have a better “pop” then the other decks.
