At first glance I thought for a while how they actually managed to build that on a tree without the tree falling apart or worries of a rotting tree. After looking further into this amazing structure I realized that the tree isn’t a real tree at all, it’s made out of concrete. The Naha Hardor Diner (pictured above) sits on a life size recreation of a Banya Tree. The way you enter this Cafe is straight through the trunk there is a spiral staircase that leads you into the cafe. Although this building is by far a “green” building they do offer locally grown organic harvested food that is fresh from the farm.
This is definitely a very nice place to visit and it over looks the Harbor so not only do you get freshly organically grown food but you get a nice view and you get to be in a tree. Who wouldn’t want to eat in a tree? If you would like more information on this diner feel free to check out the Banyantown restaurant now. If I’m ever in Japan this is definitely a place I’d want to visit although I do think some Solar panels would be a nice add on =).
